Driving Under The Influence of Alcohol (DUI) – License Suspension Removed
My client, a schoolteacher, was driving on Golf Road In Schaumburg and struck a light post. After the Schaumburg Police arrived, my client admitted to drinking 6 beers at a bar, had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. She failed the standard field sobriety tests.
Since she refused the breathalyzer test, the Secretary of State suspended her license for 1 year. My office quickly filed the paperwork to have her hearing to prevent the 1 year suspension of her driver’s license. On the first court date, since the prosecutor was not ready for the hearing, we were able to have the suspension removed from my client’s driving record. We then successfully negotiated the DUI charge down to reckless driving so that she would not lose her job!
